What I've Learned

What I've learned this semester in English is how the Natives are treated so differently from everyone else. Connecting back to 8th fire, Native people are starting to be pushed out of their territories and not mixing well with the other people that live in Canada. Since the Natives were said to be here on this land first, they feel like the cities and town that are growing are beginning to take over the land is not fair. When we visited the reservation on our school trip we got to learn so many cool trades that they would have. We heard about the difference between life now and life over 20 years ago. Everything has changed so much! Some things are positive but many things are negative. The message that i took from the whole experience it that what we do today will effect us tomorrow and we need to watch what we are doing to the environment. You have to remember there is only one earth.

  1. I agree with you, but I also think that in Canada we need more change because Natives are still treated a lot worse than the average Canadian is. If the Natives were really here first than we should be treating them equally because they were here before we were. So good job and I completely agree with you.
