Most Important thing that I've learned!
One of the most important thing I have learned from the studies/texts is that racism was a huge part of life in the past. In many different ways racism has been a huge part whether it comes to African-Americans or Aboriginals. A documentary that we watched in class called "8th Fire" showed a lot about racism towards aboriginals. So many things shocked me like cops would go up to aboriginals even if they were just walking around. Even in these years racism towards aboriginals is terrible. Also African-Americans were disrespected by white people. Whites and Blacks were separated and did not hang out together not white people were way more powerful. An example of this is shown in the novel "The Kite Runner" but instead of whites and black it was between Hazaras and Pashtuns. These are two different religions that didn't get along, Pashtuns were more powerful and Hazaras were disrespected and used for slaves. Now back to aboriginals... In the play 'The Rez Sisters" it shows the life of seven aboriginal women that live on a reserve. It shows that there life is not easy and they are not happy, so they go to Toronto to play bingo and win money. Overall racism has been a huge part in the past and in this class I have learned a lot about it, in many different perspectives. Every study/text that we read or watched were all in the past for example "The Kite Runner" was written in 2001. Even today racism is still happening towards African-Americans and Aboriginals and in my opinion I think it will be a while until it stops. So to end this off I just wanna say that racism has been a huge part of the past but also in all the studies/texts that we read or watched this semester in Mrs. Hartholt's ENG 3U class.

This is insightful Cooper. I think you can use these connections in your final exam, under the theme of conflict.
