I define myself as being a Canadian female. I love living in Canada and since I was born in Canada its a small part of who i am. I like the safety and equality this country has and the welcoming people that live here. I also like being a female and believe that I have enough respect for myself to not feel empowered by men, but still I am not a 'femanist' who think that women rule the world.
My favourite times happen during the summer while I am working camp with all my friends. My summers definitely make me feel more confident and secure with who I am. Its a place where I am my true self and feel I can express myself. Its also the place where you feel like everyone is part of a family and when the summer ends its very hard to leave.
I am also a Christian and that is a big part of who I am and how I act. I have different morals than a lot of people I go to school with and would say that I am a bit different from other people because what I believe is not the 'norm' for teenagers to believe.
It's difficult when you feel like your beliefs do not necessarily match with those around you on a daily basis. It can make you feel like you don't belong, and it can also make you critical of what you see and hear. When you have a strong faith it can be an asset to get you through these naturally difficult years, and it's nice when you have something to look forward to every summer. Being kind to others while remaining true to yourself is something that I see you do, and it demonstrates a real maturity and inner strength.
ReplyDeleteI too love living in Canada, Living in Canada also helped define who I am. Living here let me be free and independent, it aloud me to become who I am today.
