Davis
There are many things that define me in life, with that being said, there are no two things that define me more so than my family and my athletics. To begin with my family, my mother, Gayle Cherry, has taught me some of the most important lessons in life. Some of these include the fact that you need to work hard for everything, that nothing in life is free. My father, Steve Neal, is a very optimistic, passive man but at the same time is not afraid to stand up for what he believes in, and he has made and effort to pass these traits on to me. The final member of my family is my sister, Mackenzie Neal. Being a younger brother and not growing up with a big brother influence may be hard for some, but my older sister has done everything with me since we were babies. Even when I would get out of place, I can remember many times when we were younger, where my sister would kick my ass and put me in my place. The second biggest influence in my life is my athletics, more specifically lacrosse and exercise. Having a dad who owns his own gym and having a mother who is a massage therapist definitely didn't hurt growing up playing sports. Lacrosse has taken me around the world and taught me many things such as leadership, hard work, sticking up for myself and my teammates and finally teamwork. I believe these are traits that can not always be learned outside of sports, so it is good that I learned them at a young age.

Although I cannot relate to sports being such a large influence for me, I can relate to my family being important to me in my life. My parents have also taught me the most important lessons in life, just like yours. They also teach me every single day to strive for greater and to be an overall good human being, just like you Davis. My family, as is yours, is who defines me as a person and I think that's why we have created such a great relationship during high school. Great job brother.
ReplyDeleteWoow:0 This is a heart gripping story Davis that I can certainly relate to, sports have taught me a lot of the same aspects that you say in this. For example it has also taught me leadership, improved my work ethic, and certainly made me tougher and able to stick up for myself. I am not sure what I would be if i was never involved in sports that taught me all of these qualities.
